Hybrid events
Streams and video for CLARIN ERIC
Since January 2021 I have worked freelance as a multimedia specialist for CLARIN ERIC. At the annual conference I coordinate the hybrid stream, so that the people following online get the same conference as the people in the room.
For online events I host the virtual rooms, look after the platform and the questions from the audience, share the screens and sort out whatever breaks. Between events there is video production and editing, the YouTube channel, and some design and communication work.

Six annual conferences
The first one was held entirely online. In 2021 the conference ran on Zoom from start to finish and I hosted it: the schedule, the rooms, the recordings, and one speaker whose microphone died thirty seconds before their talk.
When conferences went back to meeting in person, the online audience stayed, so every edition since has been hybrid.
I have been on site for each of them – Prague, Leuven, Barcelona, Vienna, the ICRI satellite event in Prague, and this year Brighton. Every venue is different, so the first day usually goes into learning the room.

DIHUR Podkast
A podcast made by Digital Linguistics students at the Faculty of Arts, who interview researchers from the fields around digital humanities. I produce it and mentor the students together with prof. dr. Vojko Gorjanc.
Two seasons so far – seven episodes in 2024 and eight in 2025. My favourite part is watching the students learn the whole process: planning an interview, running the recording desk, editing a long conversation down to its best parts, and publishing it.

Voices of the Community
Since 2023 I have been CLARIN’s video editor and look after its YouTube channel, recording, editing and publishing the online events and the annual conference. The work I enjoy most is shot on location: CLARIN 101, a presentation-style series, and Voices of the Community, interviews with the invited PhD consortium students, cut together with footage from the conference floor. This year, the Slovene student in front of the camera is me.

LORIS
A short film presenting LORIS, the language assistant we developed at SLORI for Slovene as it is written in Italy – a variety with so little text online that general-purpose language tools are of little help to the people who write it.

My poster for the annual conference of the Italian digital humanities association: a use case from the LORIS 1.1 language assistant, on predicting grammatical cases in the Slovene varieties of Italy. It won the Gigliozzi Prize for best poster.

SMeJse – smejse.it
I rebuilt the website of SMeJse – slovenščina kot manjšinski jezik, a portal of resources for Slovene as a minority language in Italy, from scratch: the structure, the design and the code. Version 2.0 is finished and waiting to go live.
